The Valley Prison old map refers to the original facility layout used in the Roblox prison roleplay experience Valley Prison (developed by the Valley Prison group and created by gergo) prior to the facility revamp and the V3 update. Unlike the redesigned modern complex, the legacy map relied on a distinct ground-and-basement structure divided into designated sectors, featuring an older Maximum Security yard, a dedicated Recreational Room commissary, and specific escape routes like the MS-01 vent system.

Sector Organization in the Pre-Revamp Map

In the earliest iterations documented before the map revamp, Valley Prison was split across specific sector designations within the main complex. Rather than the integrated layout seen in modern builds, critical operations and inmate wings occupied distinct zones on the ground level and basement.

Sector DesignationKey Pre-Revamp Locations
Main BuildingMinimum/Medium Security Cafeteria, Prison Yard
Sector IIDepartment of Corrections (DoC) Spawn
Sector IIISolitary Confinement, Maximum Security Workshop, Maximum Security Cafeteria
Sector IVLaundromat
Middle SectorPrison Lobby
Miscellaneous / OutlyingEscapee Outpost, Parking Lot, Gate

On the ground level, early community documentation noted only three main buildings, including two large structures and small equipment rooms housing tools. The outdoor yard contained a small soccer field, and the main vehicle gate remained fully separated from the parking lot.

Maximum Security Cell Block and the MS-01 Vent

One of the most notable features of the old map was the original Maximum Security Cell Block. Located in the basement of the Main Building within Sector III, this block was built to house high-risk inmates with higher security containment than minimum-security areas.

The cell block served as a primary point of interest for escapes:

  • The MS-01 Cell Vent: The vent inside cell MS-01 served as a functional escape route in the pre-revamp map. Community patch history records that the vent mechanic was adjusted across multiple 2024 updates, shifting from a poster disguise to a weakened wall around August 4, 2024, with additional modifications on July 9 and August 20, 2024, before being overhauled in later versions.
  • Resource Spawns: The original Maximum Security area spawned five pieces of metal (three on the ground floor near the cafeteria food tray rail and the control room table, and two on the upper tier near MS-01 and the MS-06/MS-07 corner) alongside five shirts scattered across couches, desks, and bunks.
  • The Radio: An interactive radio originally sat on a table near the Maximum Security Cafeteria before temporarily shifting out to the yard during the May 10, 2024 patch, later returning to its basement table position.

Long-time players in private server sessions also frequently note the loss of the dedicated "Maximum Yard," an exterior recreation space for high-security prisoners that existed in the game's earliest beta versions before being phased out.

Classic Yard and Commissary Placement

Recreational and commercial amenities occupied entirely different locations on the old map compared to later updates:

  • The Recreational Room Commissary: Before the revamp, the Commissary was situated indoors within the Minimum/Medium Security Recreational Room, providing burgers and general roleplay supplies. It was officially removed from the recreation room during the May 10, 2024 update, eventually being relocated to the yard corner near the basketball court in V2.5.
  • Solitary and Supermax: Solitary confinement was housed deep in the facility basement. In addition to standard isolation cells, the area featured padded Supermax cells, often used in community roleplay scenarios.
  • Staff and Admin Facilities: The old layout featured dedicated administrative offices, including an Assistant Director office and security monitoring rooms on the upper floors of the corrections building, alongside hidden developer basement rooms and shooting ranges accessible via elevator shafts in testing builds.

How the Map Changed Heading into V3

The layout of Valley Prison went through successive restructuring across the V2.5 lifecycle before being replaced outright in the October 10, 2026 V3 update.

The V3 release implemented a completely new map alongside code rewrites, an overhauled user interface, a redesigned solitary system, inmate work jobs, and a revamped armory and locker system. While the current version provides modernized pathways between minimum, medium, and maximum security wings, the Sector-based structure, the old MS-01 wall-break escape, and the original indoor commissary remain exclusive to the legacy pre-revamp era.
